Privacy Policy

Effective October 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information JDN Sixty Four LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you use APex at studyapex.org (the “Service”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here and to our Terms of Use.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your email address. If you sign up with email and password, your password is handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form — we never see or store it in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google, such as your email address and, typically, your name and profile picture.

Content you submit. The exam you choose, chat messages, practice answers and free-response answers, topics you type for flashcards, and study-plan settings such as days and hours. This content is sent to our AI provider to generate responses (see section 4).

Study data saved on your device. Your study sessions — review progress, study plans and checkmarks, practice progress, flashcards, and chat history — are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device, not on our servers. Your sign-in session is also kept in your browser. Clearing your browser data removes this information.

Shared content cache. To avoid regenerating the same material for everyone, we save AI-generated content for common requests — such as review outlines, study plans, flashcard decks, and concept explanations — in a shared database, along with a label for the request. That label can include a topic or term you typed. This saved content is not linked to your account and may be shown to other users who make the same request, so please do not enter personal information in topic or search fields.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically receive information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and request times. We use IP addresses to apply short-term rate limits that protect the Service from abuse.

2. How we use information

  • to provide and operate the Service, including generating AI responses for you;
  • to sign you in, verify your email, and keep your account secure;
  • to send account-related emails, such as email confirmation messages;
  • to prevent abuse and enforce our usage limits and Terms;
  • to maintain and troubleshoot the Service; and
  • to comply with the law.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to save your study progress. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics or tracking tools. The sign-in page shows Google's own sign-in button, which Google may set its own cookies for, under Google's privacy policy.

4. Service providers that process information

We rely on the following providers to run the Service. Each handles information under its own policy.

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and the shared content cache (privacy policy).
  • Vercel — website hosting and the server functions that run the Service (privacy policy).
  • Anthropic — the AI that processes the content of your chat, practice, and study requests to generate responses (privacy policy).
  • Google — Google sign-in. The sign-in page loads Google's sign-in button and script directly from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser information when that page loads, even if you sign in another way (privacy policy).
  • Email delivery — Google's email service is used to send account confirmation emails to your address.

5. How we share information

We share information with the service providers above so they can perform services for us. We may also disclose information if we believe it is required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users, us, or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We may share information with your consent. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.

6. How long we keep information

We keep account information while your account is active and until you ask us to delete it. Study data saved in your browser stays on your device until you delete it or clear your browser data. Content in the shared cache is not tied to any person and may be kept for as long as it is useful. Our providers keep their own logs on their own schedules. We may keep information longer where the law requires or to resolve disputes and enforce our Terms.

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and server-side checks on access to our AI features. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

  • You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your account information by writing to us at the address below.
  • You can delete saved study sessions from the Home screen in the app, or clear your browser's local storage.
  • You can sign out at any time, and you can manage or revoke Google's access in your Google Account settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We will honor valid requests as the law requires.

9. Children and teens

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. You must be at least 13 to use the Service, and if you are under 18 you should use it only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Parents and guardians may contact us to review or delete their teen's information.

Because many AP students are under 18, the AI tutor is instructed to stay on AP study topics, keep its responses age-appropriate, and — if a student seems to be in distress — encourage them to talk to a trusted adult and point them to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. The Service tells you when you are interacting with AI. Please do not share personal information, such as your full name, address, or school, with the AI tutor.

10. Where information is processed

We operate from the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those places.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date, and for material changes we will ask you to accept the update before you continue using the Service.
